The Journey Can Be Lonely

Hey y’all, welcome back!

Today I want to share something new that happened on February 25th.

For the very first time, I was a guest on a podcast. Can you believe it?!?

Now I’ll be honest with you… I started out extremely nervous.
You know how it is when you step into something you’ve never done before. Your heart is racing and you’re wondering if the words will even come out right.

But after a few minutes of talking, I settled in and became comfortable.

The podcast was hosted by Savy Makalena, the founder of a wonderful movement here on Oahu called Gimme A Break.

Savy invited me on to talk about why I started my blog and my YouTube channel — sharing encouragement for people who are grieving the loss of a loved one and for those who are still walking through caregiving.

Or as I like to call it… care-loving.

Savy understands that journey deeply. She cared for both of her parents until their passing, and out of that experience she created Gimme A Break, which focuses on caring for the caregiver.

One of the beautiful things about this community is that they offer online support groups, so caregivers from anywhere in the world can meet together, share their stories, and encourage one another.

Because when you’re walking that caregiving road, it often feels like you’re doing it alone. Gimme A Break can give you community.

They also host caregiver expos here on the island, where people can come and learn about the resources that are available to help them along the way.

I have placed the link in the description below so you can learn more about what they’re doing,

Also included is the link to the podcast episode where Savy and I had our conversation.

I hope you will find encouragement.

And if it’s not something you need personally right now, perhaps you know someone in your life who is caring for a loved one and could benefit from a community like this.

Because sharing hope is really what my online presence is about.

Encouraging one another.
Helping each other through the hard seasons.

And helping people get their grit on and live more peacefully in the here and now.

On the podcast, I met the most delightful person, Bianca Spears, world renowned Laugh Leader and Encouragement Coach. Who knew laughter therapy was a thing?!? I am now a believer!

Thanks for spending a few minutes with me today.
And as always… take good care of yourselves and each other.
